Vintage F.E. Thomas 8' Special "Very Fast" Dry Fly Rod

Vintage F.E. Thomas 8' Special Very Fast Dry Fly rod.
Made in 1938 and sold to Abercrombie & Fitch, this rod is listed in the Thomas ledger as a "Very Fast Dry Fly" rod and weighs 4 1/2 oz.
One tip is 1" short, otherwise all sections are full length.
The rod's varnish was stripped and refinished at some point, but the area where the signature wraps are was not stripped, so the original darker ambered varnish remains under the newer overcoat.
There are several signature wraps missing on each section, so this rod could use a little TLC to get a few of these wraps redone, and the varnish looking good again. All the guide wraps are fine as is.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a little handyman experience to get this rod prettied up again, and get it back on the water where it belongs, casting dry flies! 8' Dry Fly tapers are a delight to cast!
Comes with the original bag, with hang tag, as well as the original brass capped aluminum tube with a barely legible decal.
