Very early Pflueger Model 1492 Medalist. 2 7/8" Diameter. 13/16" wide spool. Full length original riveted alloy foot.
This early 1930s reel has all the features most are looking for in a top tier Pflueger.
Patent Pending marks, Round metal line guide, Sculpted pilar frame with sculpted pilar "bird cage" spool arbor, Pyralin Amber handle; Screw posts for the single drag pawl.
Reel has fixed click drag. Spool does have some play in the spindle, but doesn't bind or rub, and winds as it should.
This beautiful reel still has about 50% of the lead finish remaining.
Ready to sit at the top of your Pflueger collection or take a 3/4wt line with some backing and hit the water!
