Vintage very early 1930s Pflueger Model 1495 1/2 Medalist fly reel.
3 9/16" Diameter. 1" wide Spool. Adjustable Drag.
Sculpted pilars, Round metal line guide, Amber handle, Metal center latch and Drag Adj knob. Patent Pending markings.
This beautiful reel also has the distinction of being the exact 1495 1/2 reel pictured on page 93 of Silvio Calabi's Collector's Guide to Antique Fishing Tackle.
Reel and drag are smooth and tight. Replacement alloy foot for modern seats. Spool arbor has a little residue from old backing that could be easily removed.
